had a very pleasant time recording this in December – before Salinger’s death.
LOVED reading Sue McGregor’s choice, Penelope Fitzgerald’s Offshore (somehow, and sadly, I can’t see such a joyously thin novel ever winning the Booker these days!) and, not being much for sporty books about blokes, was very surprised to really enjoy Chris Packham’s pick, A Voyage For Madmen by Peter Nichols.
you have the next 6 days to Listen Again if you’re interested, and/or listen live on the two other broadcasts.
I was driving when I tuned into Radio 4 and thought I knew that voice! Loved hearing your enthusiasm for different kinds of writing and it reminded me of the wonderful time I had on the Arvon course.
