I can feel a blog growing. It’s a personal one about life and death and which gets the most attention and how to balance them and how the anxiety brewed in that question sits in my head and my heart and sometimes makes me crazy and sometimes makes me cry and sometimes makes me smile. But it’s bubbling under, it’s not here yet.

So, while I wait (and write not-blogs and do Fun Palaces stuff), here’s some things I’m doing in the next couple of months – if you read this and come to gigs, come say hi. I’m good at saying hi back.

Monday 1 October, 10am, Eltham Library – ElthamRead Launch, launching the month-long Eltham Reads event – where a whole place is encouraged to read a book. by me. I love this so much (obv). The book is London Lies Beneath and my mum was moved out to Eltham when her home was bombed during the war, she had her first kids there, and my sister still lives there, and my mum and another sister’s ashes are there, so yes. This Woolwich girl is very happy about ElthamRead.

Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 October – Fun Palaces weekend. Of course. Find your closest one here – it’s not too late to offer to help/take part/share a skill!

Monday 16 – Saturday 21 October – teaching Queer Fiction at Arvon/The Hurst with lovely Patrick Gale. I THINK there might be a place or two left.

Tuesday 24 October, 7pm, Eltham Library – ElthamRead gig/reading/Q&A

Saturday 28 October, 11.30am & 3.30pm, Noireland Crime Fiction Festival, Belfast
