The last thing anyone needs right now is another piece about how to cope this morning, with Trump as President.

What’s causing me most pain is the number of people (mostly white, mostly men) suggesting we need to build bridges. And I do get the value in bridge-building, of course I do, it’s one of the core aims of Fun Palaces, but I’m genuinely not sure how to do it when the ‘other side’ is racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, anti-abortion, ableist, creationist & climate-change-denying. Not least because I don’t think I do want to build a bridge to where those things are ok. And also because I’m 53 and I’ve been trying to build a fair few of those bridges for 40-odd years and I’m really tired of the ‘other side’ telling me I’m wrong for trying.

So, no solutions, no forced hope. Some practical things. Places (in the UK, where I am) to donate time or money or both. Places to do something that might help alleviate some of the pain for those worst affected by the racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, anti-abortion, ableist, creationist, climate-change-denying horror we now face. Please add your own suggestions.
